I pulled the tail off a bunny once by accident. It was in the cellar of my aunts house (she kept it as a pet) and was burrowing under the foundation. My aunt wanted me to get it out so we could fill and secure the hole. I got hold of her hindquarters and pulled but she slipped through my hands and the next thing I knew I had the tail in my hands. I was horrified and so was the bunny (I didn't know bunnies could make noises much less scream at the top of their lungs - luckily it didn't bleed and she recovered emotionally very fast.... at least from what we could tell).
