Dr. Oz's book You on a Diet is a pretty interesting read and is easy to follow/understand. I like how he explains food, health and weight loss in a realistic way that normal people can understand and follow. You can probably find it in your library (a new version came out this year that I havent seen yet; I have the older version from a couple years ago).
